About Joana

I have a degree in Sports Science and with over eight years of hands-on experience in the fitness industry. My journey as a personal trainer has been enriched by a deep commitment to helping clients achieve their best.  I am very professional and resilient, but above all, it is my passion for fitness that stands out the most.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with clients from diverse backgrounds and fitness levels, each with their own unique set of needs and goals. My approach to personal training is deeply rooted in respect for individual differences and for that I make sure I adapt my programs to meet their specific needs in the most holistic way. My experience has been built through working in a wide range of environments, from gym floors to sports fields, and I have supplemented my degree with ongoing education in nutrition, sports massage, and strength and conditioning. These experiences have prepared me with an inclusive understanding of how distinct phases of life (injuries, menopause, post birth recovery) affect the human body, enabling me to provide personalised guidance that promotes each individual’s well-being.

I could not recommend Joana more, she has helped me a huge amount with her knowledge and guidance to lose weight and build muscle whilst keeping my nutrition on track and enjoying myself with food still.
I feel so much happier and much more confident in my body, I’m reaching fitness goals I never thought would be possible!

Joana knowledge of strength, cardio and mobility training were exceptional and was always adapting exercises to ensure they had the most benefit to me as an individual.

My husband and I joined Joana’s 6 week Accelerator Program which started in the middle of January 2024, and since then I have lost 9.2kg and my husband nearly 20kg.
Joana is dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivating.  Her perseverance and support is unwavering.  She is as invested in our journey as we are.

As an older member and with some health issues which restrict my performance, Joana knowledge and care to ensure she gets the very best out of me has hugely increased my confidence and enabled me to achieve good personal results.

Joana has helped me so much both with my physical performance and how I approach it mentally. Her knowledge of the physiology of the body is very impressive and she has used this to help me on my journey. She has also taken the time to give me extra exercises outside of my sessions to improve my posture, which in turn improves my performance in the gym.

Working with Joana was truly a rewarding experience. Her approach struck the perfect balance between motivation and enjoyment, consistently pushing me to surpass my limits while ensuring each session was enjoyable. Under her guidance, I made remarkable progress, uncovering strength and capabilities I never knew I possessed.

Having had a slipped disc and been in pain for over 12 months she was really supportive, encouraging me to push myself whilst teaching me how to adapt exercises and building my confidence in my abilities during recovery.

Joana is the most experienced & committed trainer I have worked with. I have trained at many different gyms in different setting, groups and classes over a 30 year period and Joana stands out as being the most focused on her client’s fitness, health and wellbeing.

For me, feeling safe whilst pushing myself and having fun at the same time are the most important criteria for successful training. Joana managed all of these and I always felt my sessions with her were highly personalised. Her energy and enthusiasm for the job is second to none.

What I love the most is that she really learnt about me as an individual to get the best out of me: pushing me when I need it - challenging me to go harder, faster and heavier but also knowing when slow me down -  to go lighter, improve my technique, or simply prevent injury
